Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and implement effective applications, interfaces, and reports. Research new technologies and packaged enterprise-level applications that will be used by employees. Apply technical knowledge to troubleshoot and improve existing applications. Requirements 4+ years of professional IT experience working as a developer of custom applications and/or as an administrator for enterprise-level packaged applications (e.g. Financials, CRM, HRIS, SharePoint, time & attendance, etc.). 2+ years of recent experience using Microsoft development tools and technologies. Advanced experience with classic ASP, VB6, and SQL Server Databases. ASP.NET/C#, XML/XSL, JSP, and SharePoint 2007 experience are pluses. Strong understanding of SQL, preferably in a MS SQL Server environment. MS TSQL, database design and administration skills are a strong plus. Solid understanding of full spectrum of software development lifecycle, including structured design and development principles and object-oriented techniques.  Must have significant experience applying structured principles in a professional environment. Knowledge of reporting technologies (such as Crystal Reports, Cognos Impromptu, and Microsoft Reporting Services) also preferred. Demonstrated success in a team environment. Demonstrated success applying interpersonal and organizational skills to support professional interactions with customers and end users.   Database Developer Location: Portland Salary: 95K   Job Description: Overview: We are seeking a SQL Server database developer with experience in various ETL technologies that is interested in broadening their experience into general OLTP database development (stored procedures, triggers, DDL, architecture) and possibly data warehousing. The role of this job is to strengthen the existing ETL processes and eventually move on to other work. That work will include making updates to existing tables, indexes, triggers, and stored procedures to support multiple high-scale OLTP databases. Investigate data quality issues, then propose and code appropriate solutions. Estimate development tasks and deliver projects on schedule. Assist data architects and QA in various aspects of improving performance, scalability and stability of databases.   BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 3+ years of experience in SQL Server development. Strong ETL development experience. Experience automating multi-step processes using batch/cmd scripts. Experience with SQL Server 2005 and SSIS. Supervisor, Programming and Development
